The use of automated bots to purchase goods online should be made illegal. The use of such automated purchasing software is exploited by scalpers to resell goods at inflated prices above the RRP, distorting supply and demand for personal gain.

This has been witnessed with the recent release of new generation of consoles, which has seen widespread reselling amid stock shortages in the approach to Christmas
