Fund additional mental health support services for university students
•24/7 support should be funded, not just weekdays 9-5.
•Mandatory mental health training for porters and other staff.
•Unlimited support and counselling sessions for students.
•Additional regular support for students with pre-existing issues.
•Making sure students are fully aware of what services are available for them to get help.
The standards in the care and support that students receive in universities are unacceptable. Many students feel as though they are being neglected or have been turned away or even put off from seeking help from universities. It is time that things changed and the Government provided funding for students to receive the support they deserve and need to keep going.
