Remove the church from control of state schools
The majority of Church of England schools were built when the church had considerable political power and using the resources of the local communities in which they were built.
In addition in many areas there is a lack of choice in schools, or places at community schools so children are obliged to attend a church school if they are to receive a state education.
As the proportion of active churchgoers has tumbled in the last 50 years, it is time to give the church a choice to either fully fund these schools or hand the schools to the local LEA to be run for the benefit of the whole community.
