Petition Action

Pause Brexit negotiations and extend the transition period to focus on COVID-19

Petition Details

We request that the government pause Brexit negotiations and request a 6 month extension to the transition period to allow the government to focus is attention on combating the COVID-19 epidemic in the UK.

This petition is not about overturning Brexit, but about focusing on protecting lives

Additional Information

The COVID-19 epidemic in the UK is getting out of control. Neighbouring countries have closed their borders with the UK and there is a real danger of immediate shortages of essentials.

The UK government must not be distracted from its primary objective of protecting its citizens. Brexit is a very important issue, but one that can be delayed without causing harm to people. An epidemic can not be out on hold, and do had to be the focus of our attention.
