Calls for reducing or cancelling accommodation fees due to COVID-19 pandemic
1.The government should call for changing or cancelling university accommodation contracts, especially for overseas students.
2.Accommodation agencies should have more flexible policies about contracts during the pandemic time.
3.Accommodation agencies should give more explanations about terms.
The COVID-19 pandemic has speeded up spreading since this spring, causing severe travel restrictions among different countries. Enormous number of students have to postpone or even cancel the travel to the country considering the strict restrictions. Accommodation agencies (on or off university campus) have little or even no corresponding policies. Lots of students still have contracts with them, need to pay for the fees without entering the accommodation.
