Ensure politicians who lie/deliberately mislead the public are held accountable.
A full public statement is made by the person who has lied or misled the public using the same forum (time, media, prominence) as was used to distribute the mistruth. Therefore, if if was said in a national press conference, the same medium must be used issue a statement retracting the lie.
Dishonesty in government is rife. The general public has lost all faith and trust in our elected representatives due to constant misinformation.
This measure would ensure that politicians act in an honourable and honest manner. Politicians would be forced to use factual information and be held accountable for information they distribute.
