Petition Action

Require halal and kosher certified products be prominently labelled as such

Petition Details

In response to a previous petition asking for prominent labelling of halal and kosher certified items the Government said "EU exit can bring opportunities for food labelling to improve transparency for consumers". Now the transition period is over it's time the Government acted on this.

Additional Information

All halal and kosher certified products should be prominently labelled as such. It is strictly forbidden for some Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians to consume any halal or kosher certified product or religiously slaughtered meat. Without clear prominent labelling we could be consuming it without knowing. All we are asking for is clear labelling to make an informed choice.

If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
