Make "Citizenship Education' a compulsory part of the national curriculum
The government should introduce citizenship education as a compulsory subject in all UK secondary schools to teach young people about Politics, Law and other aspects of everyday life to prepare future generations to invest themselves as active citizens.
Today in the UK, we are seeing important political issues unfold before us; unprecedentedly large change, and yet, millions of Brits find themselves not understanding what that actually means for them.
More than 67% of Brits surveyed could not name their own MP - the person who is supposed to represent them and their views.
We need to teach our young people how to play active roles in our society, and help them find interest in issues that affect them; that starts with citizenship education!
