Petition Action

Revise the furlough cut off date to include new starters

Petition Details

Employers can currently claim for furloughed employees that were employed and on their PAYE payroll on or before 30 October 2020. This petition is calling for the cut off date to be revised and extended to cover new starters or anyone who has changed jobs around this time.

Additional Information

The furlough scheme has protected many jobs however the cut off date for eligibility needs to be brought forward so new starters can benefit from the scheme and more jobs can be saved.

With more areas likely to be put into Tier 4 restrictions in the near future we need to know that we will be supported.
