Allow Scotland to Remain a member of the European Union Scotland Voted To Remain

Petition Details

The Government are aware that Scotland voted against leaving the European Union during the Brexit Referendum in June 2015. Scotland should be allowed to remain within the European as a single member.

Additional Information

Because the government is imposing a brexit that Scotland didn’t vote for and that Scotland don’t want. The government should be recognising Scotland position and that we either should be allowed to remain within the European Union or be given the choice to vote on Scotland’s future with The UK in a Independence Referendum.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There is no mechanism for part of state to be a member of the EU, and changing this would be a matter for the EU, not the UK Government or House of Commons.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Remove the requirement for a section 30 order to hold an Independence Referendum: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/318701
