Petition Action

Ban the sale of fireworks to the public.

Petition Details

They can only be bought by a person licensed by local authority for a organised display. Organised displays will have set standards about amount of space and safety requirements e.g first aiders.
Other dates need a permit where proximity to wildlife and residences will be considered (weddings)

Additional Information

Fireworks sold to the public mean they go off for many days around key dates. Many animals are afraid of them both domestic and wild. There have also been cases of people attaching fireworks to other people’s pets. Fireworks used by inexperienced people or those under the influence also create risk of injury to those using them and around them. They also cause additional litter where they land. Key dates and organised displays with safety measures in place should be the standard.
