Reverse 20% VAT tax for goods imported to the UK, bring back LVCR exemption
Reverse the 20% import tax on all goods from aboad entering the UK.
Bring back a Low-Value Consigment Relief which allowed items of low value to be received without incurring additonal VAT and handling fees from the recipients.
As of 1st Jan the UK now levys an additional 20% VAT on goods from abroad. This cost is passed onto the consumer.
Royal Mail also apply an £8 handling fee to each parcel.
This tax will hit everyone in the pocket and raise the cost of all imported goods, ruin small businesses, and consumers will pay more.
We were promsed Brexit would bring less tariffs, and better trade relationships. This new tax is the complete oppsosite.
This same policy is due to come into place in the EU from July 2020.
