Equalise pay for prison officers across England and Wales

Petition Details

Equalise salaries for prison officers across England and Wales. In the south of England you earn over 20% more for doing the same job as a prison officer north of London. The Government should increase wages for prison officers outside London and the South to equalise these across England and Wales.

Additional Information

The Equal Pay Act requires that man and women be given equal pay for equal work in the same establishment. The same should true for people working in different parts of England and Wales.
