Student tuition fees for 2020/21 should be refunded due to the impact of COVID19
On attending University, students enter into a contract to pay tuition fees to receive quality teaching on a course of their choosing. Due to COVID-19, this agreement cannot be honoured and therefore the government should refund the fees for the 2020/21 academic year.
Arts courses, such as drama, have been particularly affected. Social distancing measures have prevented adequate face to face work. The government should recognise their inability to provide reasonably priced education this year and provide a refund to eligible university students.
