Petition Action

Suspend non-essential flights to/from the UK during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Petition Details

Be strict with the definition of ‘essential'.

People that travel must be legally required to test negative for COVID prior to departure & arrival, & self-isolate. If there is evidence of them behaving unsafely (e.g., attending large parties), they should be a fined/do community service.

Additional Information

Some hospices haven’t allowed visitors in residents’ final weeks of life, meaning they faced death alone. Meanwhile, trivial trips abroad entailing multiple hours spent in airports/planes have gone ahead, including from airports in Tier 4 areas. D-Z List celebrities/influencers have gone on many holidays to e.g. the Maldives, Barbados & Dubai this year without comment or consequence despite documenting themselves partying/not wearing masks or social distancing. This damages the public's morale.
