Reintroduce the opt in Scheme for Student Nurses.
Bring back the opt in scheme for student nurses during the second national lock down! It helped during the first lock down by providing the NHS with the support that they needed. Student nurses are risking their lives working during this pandemic - the least they deserve is a basic wage.
During the first lock down, 2nd & 3rd year student nurses had the option to Opt in and get a wage whilst providing vital help to the NHS. This lock down they are expected to go and risk their lives and work 40 hours a week in hospitals for free - whilst everyone else is being advised to stay home. Receiving a basic wage should be the minimum for student nurses risking their health to go out and help people during this pandemic. Being back the opt in scheme!
