Postpone University until September 2021
We would want the government to consider the detrimental effect of this pandemic on our future as it is affecting us, both academically and mentally. Postponing University seems fair for us who are expecting quality teaching and with the hope of producing work we are truly capable of.
We, students, aim to make the most out of our degree. However it is becoming unendurable to produce quality work under the stress, anxiety, and uncertainty imposed by the pandemic. We are seeing more young adults building an unhealthy relationship with drugs and alcohol in order to cope. Our mental health is greatly affected and have seen deaths due to the lack of support. This begs the question whether if we push through, will our grades be reflective of our capabilities or worth losing lives?

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about university teaching, assessments and exams are a matter for individual universities, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you have concerns about your university's arrangements for teaching and assessment you should raise these with your university or the Office for Students, which regulates the higher education sector.
We understand that the current situation is stressful for many people, including students. Student Minds, a mental health charity for students, is collating guidance and developing resources to support students experiencing stress as a result of the current situation, which you may find useful: www.studentminds.org.uk/coronavirus.html
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
