The Dept of Education should meet the needs of ALL learners including those with SLD and PMLD
"We demand that the Secretary of State for Education should make a commitment to ensuring that the Department for Education works to meet the needs of all learners including those with severe or profound learning difficulties.
We are dismayed to learn that the Secretary of State for Education believes that “Every child should expect that they should leave school with at least a C pass in English and mathematics”.
This shows shocking ignorance of the needs of a whole range of the school population for whom GCSE results are a totally inappropriate measure of achievement. It is an insult to those pupils, their parents and carers, and to the professionals who work with them."
