Allow birthing partners throughout the maternity journey
From Trust to Trust the allowances and exceptions are different, this unfair. There needs to be one clear guideline for the NHS on maternity birthing partners. You cannot expect us to be at any stage in our pregnancy alone.
The Government need to make it clear that one birthing partner should be allowed to accompany you to all scans, appointments, through the entire birth and remain after birth as it was before Covid. People are suffering anxiety, stress and are emotionally drained from this entire situation, they need support during all stages of child birth. The differ in allowances at each trust is robbing women of their childbirth experience.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about visitors are a matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
