Raise school leaving age, all students to repeat the current academic year.
The government needs to consider the option of all students repeating a the current year of education instead of predicted grades and teacher assessment, the students have not had enough classroom time for this to be fair.
Students missed key tuition time, key life experiences, field trips, communication and extra curricular activities.
Also there is the issue of school leavers (whether 16, 18 or university) entering a challenging job market and becoming demoralised before their working life has even begun.
The costs associated with an additional year in education is an investment in the future and long term economy not just a short term solution.
