Supermarket shop workers to be equivalent to carers for vaccinations.
Supermarket shop workers have been frontline since the first lockdown in March 2020, despite following guidelines, shop workers are at Risk everyday and with the new variant has shown that it can be passed on without the person being aware, and has increased the risk to shop workers.
Shop workers have never been recognised as frontline by the government, despite being a lifeline for everyone.
Having to deal with those with or without masks, no restrictions on the amount of shoppers per Sq foot, or regard to all workers who contend with shoppers on a daily basis, it has become evident the new variant has taken effect on shop workers and needs an intervention to keep resources and supermarkets open and this needs to be done by increasing the priority of vaccination.
