Impose additional requirements on local authorities regarding Traveller sites
Councils should be improving and building sites for Travelling and Gypsy people, but tend ignore their duties to provide for these communities. I want the Government to impose new requirements on local authorities to fund improvements for Traveller sites.
Travellers and Gypsies are a protected minority, yet too many local authorities ignore these communities and let Travellers/Gypsies stay in substandard living conditions. We believe this is a breach of rights and contributes to ill health, depression and injury. Travellers and Gypsies deserve to be treated like other communities and see local authorities invest in building and improving Traveller sites.
