Petition Action

Better clarification of International Examinations

Petition Details

We would like more clarity regarding international examinations. This includes: international baccalaureate, international GCSEs (iGCSE) and international A Levels for all exam boards. This could either mean the cancellation of exams or an option for those who wish to partake in them.

Additional Information

International students have not been heard in contrast to A Level/vocational students. This indicates that there has barely been any concise updates from the education secretary regarding international examinations such as; international baccalaureate, international GCSEs and international A Levels.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about courses and assessments that are delivered by independent educational institutions, as opposed to state schools, are a matter for individual exam boards and educational institutions, not the Government or House of Commons.

We could accept a petition calling for the Government to prohibit any exams from taking place during the Covid-19 outbreak, if that is something you want to happen.

We understand that the current situation is stressful for many people, including students. Student Minds, a mental health charity for students, is collating guidance and developing resources to support students experiencing stress as a result of the current situation, which you may find useful: www.studentminds.org.uk/coronavirus.html
