Extend funding for 16-19 year olds if they can't finish courses during Covid19
Young people who need extra time to finish practical courses should be able to learn for free. Funding for 16-19yo in vocational studies to be extended to provide for any youth who had their education paused by the pandemic. They should also be entitled to Child Benefit for being in FT education.
Academic learners are able to make the transition from school to home learning much easier than a young person who has chosen a vocational course. Unfortunately, there is only so much remote learning can teach you - practical skills need practice to learn. It is highly likely that young people, that have been studying in the pandemic, will need more time to complete the assessment side of their qualifications, and should not be penalised for this.
