Petition Action

Award distance learners grades on tutor predicted grades. Abolish algorithm.

Petition Details

Students studying with accredited distance learning organisations to be given grades based on their tutor predicted grade in line with all other students in country. Last year many of these students were discriminated against after the algorithm was abolished for all mainstream students

Additional Information

But still implemented by accredited distance learning organisations such as Oxford Open Learning, meaning many students were marked down despite higher tutor predicted grades which were awarded based on the candidates work, pass papers and attitude. Please don't let this happen again.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about courses and assessments that are delivered by independent educational institutions, as opposed to state schools, are a matter for individual exam boards and educational institutions, not the Government or House of Commons.
