Implement an Emergency Basic Income throughout the third lockdown.
The government has a duty to intervene and protect citizens from falling into poverty during the third national lockdown.
The government must put in place an immediate and unconditional Basic Income to all UK residents to ensure food and housing security thoughout the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
We are in an emergency. We're told we must stay at home to protect the NHS. But many don't have the necessary financial security to do so. The resulting stress is creating a mental health crisis.
A Basic Income is essential to protect public health and support those who need to self-isolate, as well as the 3m+ 'excluded' not covered by previous schemes.
No-one should be left behind during this crisis. We need to protect everyone in society and safeguard our NHS with an emergency Basic Income.
