Petition Action

Reinstate 'Everyone In' scheme to provide lockdown housing for rough sleepers

Petition Details

Without delay, the government must:
-Reinstate the 'Everyone In' scheme created during the first lockdown and ensure all rough sleepers are provided with emergency shelter
-Give councils emergency funding to support rough sleepers and homeless people
- Lift the cap on housing benefit

Additional Information

According to the ONS, 778 homeless people died in 2019. The 2020 figures are likely to be much higher due to Covid-19. By immediately implementing the measures above for at least the period of the current lockdown, we can avoid further deaths and increased homelessness.

We currently face the highest infection rates and harshest weather conditions we have seen since the start of the pandemic, and the Prime Minister has said 'the weeks ahead will be the hardest yet.' We must get #EveryoneIn.
