Ban the use of bee killing pesticides
The government are considering allowing the use of a pesticide that causes significant harm to bees. The use of neonicotinoid thiamethoxam should be banned in the UK, as it is in the EU.
The government are allowing the use of a pesticide that causes significant harm to bees.
Reportedly neonicotinoid thiamethoxam harms bee brain development, weakens the immune system and leaves the bee unable to fly.
The use of neonicotinoid thiamethoxam was banned in the EU in 2018, our gov backed the ban at that point as they were fully aware of it's harm. It is imperative we stop the use of this pesticide in order to protect bees (and other pollinators) whose numbers have halved since 1970.
