Petition Action

Close all non-essential construction sites during the tier 5 lockdown

Petition Details

All non-essential construction sites should be closed as part of the "tier 5" restrictions during the Covid pandemic.

Additional Information

Over 2.5million people work within construction industry alone in the UK and they are all at risk of further spreading the virus. Particularly, new-build residential construction is not "essential" at present and people should not be put at risk for it to continue. Covid is at its worst and it is near impossible to socially distance at all times on a building site, particularly at risk are the internal trades such as, plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc.
It needs to be closed now.
