Ban bee harming pesticides/herbicides that contain neonicotinoids in the uk
The government plan to allow the use of a pesticide containing neonicotinoid thiamethoxam which is banned in the e.u and has been in the UK until lobbying from the NFU and British Sugar. We want the Government to find an alternative to help the sugar beet situation.
The pesticide containing neonicotinoid thiamethoxam is widely known to wipe out swathes of bees, hence its ban in the EU. Without bees our entire 100 billion pound food industry is at risk, so risking every other food product for the sake of sugar is ludicrous.
