Petition Action

Stop A Level and GCSE students having 'mock style' exams and have coursework set

Petition Details

The whole point of cancelling exams is for students not to sit exams, but we are being told that we might sit exams but marked by teachers which defeats the whole purpose of not sitting exams. Instead of exams, we now have 4+ months to complete coursework that exam boards can set.

Additional Information

Coursework is concrete evidence of a students capability and is a fair way of them being tested for all subjects.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Deciding whether to hold mock exams is a matter for individual schools, not the Government or House of Commons.
