As mark of respect to the 'fallen' remove optional status of World Wars in new (2014) National Curriculum for History

Additional Information

To commemorate 2014 as the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War and as mark of respect to the fallen, the Government should make teaching about both world wars a requirement of the new 2014 National Curriculum for History rather than giving it specifically optional status, in these terms:
“… this could include:
Examples (non-statutory)…
• the First World War and the Peace Settlement…
• the Second World War and the wartime leadership of Winston Churchill”
