Reinvest lockdown fines directly back into the NHS
Use the funds raised by fines for those flouting the lockdown to support the local NHS with staffing, equipment and other associated costs of dealing with the Covid pandemic on top of winter pressures.
The NHS is buckling under the weight of Covid-19 combined with winter pressures. PPE, ventilators and other equipment are needed but staffing, or a shortage thereof, is the biggest safety risk at present. Use the revenue raised by fining people for breaking lockdown restrictions to fund local NHS acute trusts.
