Grade a-level and GCSE students on teacher assessments rather than “mini” exams
Cancel exams and work with students, teachers and ofqual to create a better alternative to grading A-level and GCSE students this year that includes their effort to learning, previous and ongoing assessments and their attendance rather than sitting “mini” exams to determine students’ grades.
Instead of having students sit formal exams ofqual have proposed that all students should sit “mini” exams. This is unfair on students who have missed out on months of learning due to the national lockdowns not to mention those who have had to shield. Grades should be decided on student’s effort to learning, previous and on going assessments and attendance.
