Give extra payments to eligible families for energy bills while homeschooling.
Parliament need to discuss a way to make one off support payments to eligible families for their heating and electricity bills, on top of the Warm Homes discount. Warm Homes discount is given on the basis that children are at school in the week, and costs for electricity and heating would be less.
Vulnerable families and those on low incomes are having to pay significantly higher costs towards heating and electricity whilst their children are homeschooling. Extortionate energy costs already force poorer families to choose between food and heating/electricity. During these difficult times, when incomes are already stretched, the extra burden of energy should be supported by the government.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
If you want all families home-schooling children to receive help with their energy bills you might like to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/567637
If you only want the Government to provide these payments to people on low incomes or receiving certain benefits you could start a new petition stating more clearly what support you want to be provided, and who to.
