Give the people a referendum on the continuance of coronavirus restrictions.
Parliament should debate whether the people should have a direct say on the profound issue of the emergency coronavirus legislation. The people should adjudicate on whether the government should continue imposing restrictions which has severely reduced individual freedom.
The emergency coronavirus legislation is the most significant piece of legislation in terms of the implications on how society acts, conducts business, and exists. Nearly a year on, this legislation persists with all the said implications and ,across the world, democracy has been challenged with governments becoming more authoritarian. To salvage the U.K's democracy, and reputation as a free society, parliament should endeavour to give the people a referendum.
