Reduction of Student Tuition Fees 2020/2021
Universities should operate on a no-profit basis this year, to which the Government should bring into law.
Any profit made should refunded to students, in the form of a reduction in tuition fees, divided equally amongst students as a rebate.
Staff bonuses should not be used to reduce profits.
As we know and has been illustrated through popularity of other petitions, us university students believe it is unreasonable to pay £9250 for this year. However, we also acknowledge it is highly unlikely universities could afford to operate charging only £3000 as other petitions propose, as they still have to pay for maintenance, resources, contractors and salaries. This petition offers a more reasonable solution, assuming it is carried out with transparency. There is little negative to universities, but brings fairness for us students who believe teaching has been inadequate.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Almost all universities in the UK have charitable status and as such operate on a non-profit basis.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
You might also like to sign the following petitions:
