Make fines a certain percentage of the offender's income.
Introduce a system where a fine is a percentage of the offender's income, not a fixed amount as it is now.
Introduce a system where fines are a percentage of someones income.
It means the richer members of our society won't just be handed with a simple fine they will be able to easily pay off, that lower income people wouldn't be able to afford so easily. An example of this can be seen through many celebrities who continue to break coronavirus regulations as they can afford to.
It would reduce inequalities in our system where the more fortunate can afford to break the law.
