SET UP A NATIONAL CARE SERVICE
SET UP A ROYAL COMMISSION TO IMPLEMENT A NATIONAL CARE SERVICE, ENCOMPASSING PRIVATE CARE HOMES, SO THAT ALL PEOPLE GET QUALITY CARE, AND CARE WORKERS RECEIVE CONDITIONS OF SERVICE AND PAY COMMENSURATE WITH THE VALUABLE WORK THEY DO.
ON 24/7/2019 THE PRIME MINISTER SAID "WE WILL FIX THE CRISIS IN SOCIAL CARE FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL". THE MARK OF A CIVILISED SOCIETY IS THE WAY IT TREATS THE MOST VULNERABLE MEMBERS.MANY OF OUR ELDERS ARE CARED FOR BY STAFF ON ZERO CONTRACTS EARNING LESS THAN £10 PER HOUR. IN THE SOUTHWEST ALONE, 8 OUT OF 16 COUNCILS SPEND LESS PER CAPITA ON SOCIAL CARE THAN IN 2010. WE NEED A NATIONAL CARE SERVICE. AND WE NEED IT NOW.
