Give all Care Home residents their 2nd vaccine dose now, not in 3 months.
Forgotten at the beginning of the pandemic & left struggling throughout. It is imperative that Care Home residents should not have to wait 3 months or more to get their second dose of vaccine. They have been through enough. This is vital to stop increased mental health problems as well as physical.
It is the Govt responsibilty to serve every citizen & those in Care Homes have suffered the most. Lockdown has had an extremely detrimental affect on their wellbeing, mental health & physical capabilities. The continued anguish for their families is only made worse now by the stalling of the 2nd dose of vaccine. They MUST be priority and get both doses on time as advised.

The delays to receiving the second dose of a Covid-19 vaccine has been implemented by the NHS following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), which advises UK health departments on immunisation, which has also been supported by the UK's four Chief Medical Officers. Their new advice and the changes to the Covid-19 vaccination programme are consistent with the temporary authorisations granted for these vaccines by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
The JCVI, Chief Medical Officers, MHRA and NHS England are all independent and operationally independent of the UK Government, so we cannot accept petitions calling for actions that these bodies are responsible for.
