Petition Action

A wage for Medical/NHS University Students

Petition Details

To pay all students that are working on a medical ward or in an ambulance a wage whether it is apprenticeship or a little lower.

Additional Information

Medical students are working the same shifts and doing most of the same jobs as qualified medical staff. This is a full 48 hours a week for most students and not being paid a single penny. With working these placement shifts in order to pass the year there is very limited time to have a second job outside of placement. As well as trying to support their education for university and a family for some. This means that some are unable to pay bills, afford transportation to the placements/university
