Stop UK trade deals with countries that commit genocide
We should not trade with countries engaged in genocide, to put pressure on such rogue states to change their behaviour.
Post Brexit trade deals should have a moral obligation to uphold human rights
Sadly, the government did not back the widely supported amendment to the Trade Bill, despite a backbench rebellion on the issue. There is no moral justification for trading with nations that murder their own citizens.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the UK trading with certain countries, but it's not clear if you want the UK Government to unilaterally end trade with countries they believe to be engaged in genocide, or if you want the Government to empower the courts to determine whether another country is engaged in genocide, which would affect the process fr agreeing to a new trade deal.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
