Legal aid for mental health patients in family court
I would like government to help mental health patients by providing legal aid to them in the family courts if mental health will affect their ability to represent themselves or their children.
The mind is key in court matters, and if you have mental health issues in court you could find representing yourself alot harder.
I ask that the government consider how to support mental health patients through legal aid so that they can afford to attend courts represented by a solicitor.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Legal Aid is already available in these circumstances, you can find out more here:
www.gov.uk/legal-aid/what-you-can-get
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as changes to the eligibility critiera.
