Add Prison Staff to the top priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Prison staff need to be added to the top priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine along side other emergency services and keyworkers.
Prison staff are the only possible carriers of COVID-19 inside our establishments, as all new prisoners are tested on arrival
Looking at statistics of COVID-19 in UK prisons 4,800 prisoners have contracted COVID-19 and at least 71 prisoners have died since the start of the pandemic.
In December alone there had been 2,400 positive cases of COVID-19, a rise of nearly 70% in a month.
With Prison staff isolating due to COVID managing a prison/prisoners will increase in difficulty.
