Teachers should be vaccinated against Covid under JCVI Priority Group 2
As GPs, head teachers and journalists, we request - as has happened with other professions - teachers to be prioritised for vaccination against Covid They are frontline staff and should be vaccinated under JCVI group 2.
Vaccinating teachers will help with resilience, ensure staff feel safe to return to live classrooms and enable Headteachers to bring children and staff safely back to school. They are at high risk of infection and as vectors for transmission of the disease.
