Petition Action

Reform the Tax system to promote economic recovery

Additional Information

At present the public are scared to buy anything that is not essential as a result of the credit crisis.

If post tax disposable incomes were higher then consumer confidence would increase as would high street spending and the wheels of industry would again start to turn.

If individuals personal tax liability commenced at a higher level of £20k pa and was set at 40% for all tax payers then the anomaly of National Insurance could be abolished.

If VAT and fuel tax was replaced by a simplified form of purchase tax set at 15% that was payable on all saleable goods and services this would stimulate economic growth and raise the moral of the population and improve the credit rateing of the UK on the world stage.
