Erect a memorial for those lost to AIDS in London
Build a memorial for the millions lost to the AIDS epidemic in the UK to mark the suffering that happened not only because of the disease but the ignorance that surrounded it. There are 6,000 war memorials in London. There can be one AIDS memorial.
Because it is what is right, it is overdue and it should not be up to campaigners to fund or push for this. If you care so much about toppling statues you should care about erecting this one too.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about erecting memorials in specific locations is a matter for individual local authorities and landowners, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to provide funding for a national memorial to people who have died as a result of AIDS, if that's something you want to happen.
