Partners to be able to stay throughout Birth of child and afterwards.
Partners should be aloud in through all labour and birth of baby, they are partners not visitors and deserve the experience just as much as the mother does. Whats the difference with being there 24/7 and half way through? It’s a scary experience as is especially for first time mums.
The government should let ‘normal’ rules go ahead for the birth of a child, with full ppe etc. And afterwards there should be no visiting slots or getting sent away as soon as the woman is in a ward, the partner should get to experience they first moments too and be able to give the mother a hand while recovering. LET PEOPLE HAVE A NORMAL BIRTH, its horrible going to appointments etc alone as is.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about visitors are a matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons.
With regard to antenatal appointments, scans, and the birth itself, on 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
