Force Energy Providers to charge a fair rate for Key Meter Customers
To ensure that Energy Providers have to charge a relevant and fair rate for the energy accessed via a Key. These are usually being used by the most vunerable and financially unstable in our society and we should be supporting them find their way out of fuel proverty.
Introduce regulations around the charges which can be raised against the customers who are using Key Meters. It needs to be reasonable and comparable to customers who pay via Direct Debit or Cash for their bills. They should not be penalised for their payment method.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The amounts charged by energy firms for providing gas and electricity are a matter for them, not the UK Government or Parliament. It is also for individual consumers to decide which energy provider(s) to sign up to, based on all relevant factors including the rates charged.
