Make it illegal for drivers to drive off after hitting a cat.
Add cats and grant the same status as Dogs to the Road Traffic Act 1998
I believe cats are more at risk to being run over than a Dog. Cats are independent animals and have experienced first hand the devastation this can cause to a family. Dogs are often kept on leads and statistics released by Highways England show that cats are dying more because of roadkill than Dogs.
